Canada Prairies Prognosticator
Inside this issue of the Canadian Prairies Agricultural Weather Prognosticator is a discussion over recent dryness. Drying has returned to the Prairies and while that has been a great thing for the maturation and harvest of 2025 crops there is a need for rain to replenish soil moisture down deep into the ground for 2026 crops. There is also an update over the October and October through December weather outlook. Updates on weather in the United States, Brazil, India and China as well as comments regarding the potential for La Nina are also included in this issue.
Inside this edition of the Canadian Prairies Agricultural Weather Prognosticator there will be an update on the cold weather in regard to the weekend of September 6 being the end of the 45-day repeating cold cycle that has prevailed this year. An update on the September weather outlook and an early look at October was included in this edition, although the October outlook may change later as it becomes better known what will happen in the tropics and to the proposed La Nina potential. Soil moisture updates are provided in this issue for selected areas around the world and a discussion regarding future rainfall in the Prairies. Special weather updates on India, Argentina and China are also included in this issue along with a lookback at rainfall in August.
Inside this edition of the Canadian Prairies Weather Prognosticator is much detail about the rain distribution across the Prairies this growing season. There is also an updated forecast for the second half of August and September 2025. Special assessment articles are also in this issue for Ontario and Quebec crop areas and Argentina. There is also a special report on the potential for another La Nina event this autumn.

An update on the outlook for August and September is included in this report along with a discussion about the cold weather potential in September.
