Canada Prairies Prognosticator
In this latest edition of the Canadian Prairies Agricultural Weather Prognosticator there are details about the recent warm and dry biased conditions in the Prairies (especially in the west). An update on February and March weather outlooks are included in this issue with dryness likely to continue a dominating feature for a while. Some improvement in pecipitation is possible during the latter part of March in the west, but parts of the Prairies may have to wait until spring for a decent precipitation boost. Also in this issue are updates on Brazil and Argentina weather and more detail about January weather in the Prairies. An article was written regarding futures prices and their potential for some appreciation during the spring and summer this year due to El Nino development. An early look at spring and summer weather is also included on pate 10.

New soil moisture updates are also included.

There is also an assessment of La Nina's bias for producing snow in the southwestern Prairies. Attention was made over recent cooling ocean surface temperatures in the Gulf of Alaska and how that might impact summer 2026 weather. Updated soil moisture maps for various areas in the world are included in this issue as well as updates on South America weather, La Nina and excessive rain events in Southeast Asia.
