Mato Grosso, Northeast Brazil To See Several Waves Of Rain

Kansas City, January 3 (World Weather Inc.) – Frequent rainfall lifted soil moisture from Mato Grosso, Goias, and portions of Mato Grosso do Sul into northeastern Brazil during the past week. Although the rain was welcome, production of soybeans is still expected to be lower than early season predictions due to the hot and dry weather at the start of planting season. These areas now have ample moisture to support aggressive establishment and growth. Rainfall was erratically distributed in center-south and southern Brazil during the past week, though most locations still had enough moisture for the soybeans and first-season corn development to advance very well. Mato Grosso and Goias into northeastern Brazil will remain in a wet weather bias through the middle of next week that will maintain aggressive growth. Other areas will see a mix of spotty rain and sunshine that will also support generally good crop conditions.

Weekly Citrus Weather For January 3, 2024

Kansas City, January 3 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region received light rain during the past week. More significant rain is expected through the middle of next week, which will keep soil moisture sufficient to maintain a favorable environment for citrus fruit development. In Brazil, rainfall varied significantly during the past week. Most areas still had plenty of moisture to support aggressive growth even in areas that received little to no rain. More frequent rainfall through the middle of next week will maintain a good environment for citrus development. Harvesting of Mexico’s citrus will advance swiftly in the coming week due to a lack of significant rain.
