Queensland, Australia Rain Restores Favorable Crop Conditions

Kansas City, January 31 (World Weather Inc.) – Timely rain during the planting and growing season has continued to promote a good outlook for the sorghum, rice, oilseeds, cotton, and other coarse grains produced this time of year in eastern Australia. Queensland received significant rain during the past week as Tropical Cyclone Kirrily advanced over the state. The state had been drying down before the rain helped replenish soil moisture and supported more aggressive growth. The main production areas will only have a few opportunities for light and erratic rain through the middle of next week. Most locations will still have enough soil moisture to support aggressive growth and reproduction. A good shot of rain would be welcome toward mid-February to maintain the favorable conditions.
