Central Buenos Aires, Argentina Rainfall Best Since December

Kansas City, February 7 (World Weather Inc.) – Additional rain fell in central Buenos Aires Tuesday further easing long term dryness. The past two days have generated 0.79 to 3.86 inches of moisture and the last time generalized rain fell in a significant manner was December 26-28. Topsoil moisture is improving, but subsoil moisture is still quite limited. All other areas in Argentina continued to dry out over the past two days, despite a few showers and thunderstorms and much more rain is still needed. Today’s forecast still supports widespread rain by this time next week.

U.S. Delta, Southeast Will Have Abundant Moisture For Planting

Kansas City, February 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Despite ongoing drought in the Delta and Tennessee River Basin recent rain has been substantial and has saturated the topsoil in many areas. Additional rain expected in the coming ten days will maintain wet field conditions and may lead to localized flooding. The southeastern states are more favorably moist, but they, too, will receive additional rain setting the stage for favorable spring planting conditions once warming kicks in to raise drying rates between storms.

Northern India, Neighboring Areas Received Much-Needed Rain

Kansas City, February 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Weather disturbances brought rain to northern India and portions of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and eastern India during the past week. Amounts were too light to significantly improve the moisture profile, but for irrigated crops it likely helped to ensure good production potential and for dryland areas there is need for follow up moisture. The rain was still welcome and helped improve conditions for development and reproduction of rabi crops. Additional rain is still needed across the country in the coming weeks to further improve production potentials. Several of the main production areas were drier biased in January and lost a significant amount of moisture. Another disturbance is slated to bring rain to portions of eastern and central India over the weekend and early next week that will further improve production potentials.

Weekly Citrus Weather For February 6, 2024

Kansas City, February 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus country generally received light rain during the past week. Irrigation was run on a frequent basis and continued to support a good environment for tree and fruit development. The region will be drier biased during the coming week. The need for irrigation will remain high. In Brazil, the main citrus areas saw a mix of spotty rain and sunshine during the past week. A similar weather pattern is expected in the coming week. Citrus development conditions will be generally good, though production potentials remain lower than normal due to greening disease and adverse conditions earlier in the season. Mexico’s citrus areas were mostly dry during the past week with drier biased conditions persist in the coming week. The need for abundant rain remains high as drought or abnormally dry conditions remain prevalent.
