Brazil To See Good Mix Of Rain, Sunshine This Week

Kansas City, February 12 (World Weather Inc.) – Many areas in southern Brazil experienced net drying during the past week despite periods of erratic rainfall. The lack of abundant rainfall was beneficial for soybean and first season corn maturation and harvesting as well as Safrinha corn planting. Concern about dryness in some areas has been rising, but rain forthcoming in the next week to ten days should be sufficient to support improved topsoil moisture and better Safrinha crop planting and emergence conditions. Other locations in Brazil saw waves of rain during the past week that kept soil moisture at adequate to excessive levels and a good mix of weather should continue for a while.

Argentina Weather Takes A Big Turn For the Better

Kansas City, February 12 (World Weather Inc.) – It is amazing how much can change in agricultural areas in a single week’s time. Many crops in Argentina were in dire need of moisture a week ago with serious crop stress threatening to cut deeply into 2024 production. The dryness and excessive heat that occurred in January and the first days of February were raising much worry that Argentina might slip back into drought after seeing improved crop weather earlier this season. All of that worry was put to an end by aggressive rain and thunderstorms that evolved in the past week. Significant rain has already fallen bringing crop develop improvements and milder temperatures. Additional rain is expected and further improvements in crop conditions and production potentials shall result.
