Argentina Rainfall May Disrupt Harvest

Kansas City, April 1 (World Weather Inc.) – Harvesting of the summer grains, oilseeds, and other crops is underway in portions of Argentina. Entre Rios and portions of Santa Fe, Cordoba, and La Pampa received enough rain late in the Easter weekend to potentially impact harvesting and general fieldwork while conditions were more favorable in all other areas during the past week. Northern and east-central Argentina will receive enough rain to potentially disrupt harvesting and fieldwork this week. No major quality impacts are anticipated and producers may be able to get into the fields between rain events. Other locations in Argentina will see more favorable conditions for maturation, harvesting, and general fieldwork despite some spotty rain.

Eastern Europe, Western Russia Warmth Increases Drying

Kansas City, April 1 (World Weather Inc.) – Weekend weather turned much warmer across Eastern Europe and western parts of Russia resulting in faster drying rates and rising soil temperatures in snow free areas while increasing the snowmelt pace in western Russia. These conditions will prevail over the next ten days as the warm bias prevails. The biggest concern for the region is accelerated drying, although longer range computer forecast model runs have recently suggested rain will develop after the warmer weather abates in another week to ten days.
