Brazil Moisture Profile Improves For Some, Not All

Kansas City, March 31 (World Weather Inc.) – Rain late last week was ideal in bolstering topsoil moisture across Brazil’s center west and portions of center south crop country. The wetter field conditions raised the potential for Mato Grosso and Goias to be plenty wet when the rainy season ends which is very important for successful Safrinha corn production especially in areas planted late. The situation is much different in Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana where drying has been occurring and the ground is dry enough for crop stress to intensify. Relief is expected early this week in the driest areas with some follow up rain a week later. The rain will be welcome, but possibly not enough to fully restore soil moisture in support of dry season crop development without follow up rain.
