Argentina Harvest, Winter Wheat Planting Will Advance Swiftly

Kansas City, May 14 (World Weather Inc.) – Despite some spotty rain during the past week, harvesting is progressing across Argentina, albeit at a slightly slower pace compared to last year. Precipitation will be limited for the main Pampas farming region during the coming week, which will support aggressive harvesting and fieldwork. Yield potentials are still expected to be much greater than last season. Winter wheat planting will also get off to an aggressive start in the coming days due to the lack of rainfall. Current soil conditions should help support almost ideal establishment and early-season growth.

Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, May 14, 2024

Kansas City, May 14 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region received varying amounts of rain during the past week. Irrigation continued to support good growth, even in areas that received little to no rain. The main citrus areas will only receive light rain during the coming week and will again rely on irrigation. Mexico’s citrus areas were mostly dry during the past week with temperatures warming near or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit on a frequent basis. The environment was stressful for the fruit and trees and abundant rainfall is needed. Northeastern and east-central Mexico into Oaxaca will have opportunities for spotty rain during the coming week, though not enough rain will fall to fix the dryness. Brazil’s citrus areas were mostly dry during the past week and will remain drier biased during the coming week. Production potentials for this season and next season remain lower than usual due to adverse conditions with drying and greening disease.
