Southern Brazil To Receive More Rain, Flooding Possible

Kansas City, May 14 (World Weather Inc.) – Rio Grande do Sul again reported excessive rainfall this past weekend. The state has been inundated by copious amounts of rain since late April and the impact has been horrific. The additional rain returned serious flooding added new reports of property and infrastructure damage and contributed to the losses in agriculture that have been ongoing for an extended period of time. Another break in the excessive rainfall is expected this week, but it could easily return again next week. In the meantime, rain in Parana and Paraguay has been good for Safrinha crops and there is some potential for portions of Mato Grosso do Sul to get some needed rain this weekend into next week. The remainder of Brazil continues to dry out in a seasonable manner.

South Texas, Coastal Bend To See Minimal Relief From Dryness

Kansas City, May 14 (World Weather Inc.) – Texas weather in recent weeks and months has disfavored rainfall for South Texas portions of the Texas Coastal Bend and the southwestern counties of West Texas. Each of these areas is quite dry and many crops in each area will experience a restricted amount of rain during the next couple of weeks. Rain in Texas will be greatest in the Blacklands and near the upper coast (including northern parts of the Coastal Bend). The remainder of West Texas will experience some rain, but it will not be as frequent as desired in some fields.
