Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, June 11, 2024

Kansas City, June 11 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus areas received varying amounts of rain during the past week. However, most locations did not receive enough rain to completely fix the drought or abnormally dry conditions that evolved earlier this spring. Irrigation continued to support good citrus development, though drought or abnormally dry conditions further entrenched across the region. A weak tropical system will bring significant rain to the Florida peninsula today and Wednesday with some follow-up rain expected later this week and weekend. The precipitation will improve the moisture profile and maintain a good environment for the citrus. Monsoonal rain will slowly spread across portions of western and east-central Mexico during the coming week. The rain will help improve citrus conditions, most notably in Oaxaca and neighboring locations. Much more rain is needed to completely fix the drought in Mexico. Brazil’s citrus areas were seasonally dry during the past week and will remain dry in the coming week. Maturation and harvesting will continue with few disruptions.

Eastern Ukraine, Russia’s ‘Southern Region’ To Receive Rain

Kansas City, June 11 (World Weather Inc.) – Dryness continues to intensify for eastern Ukraine and Russia’s Southern Region’. Most unirrigated winter crops are quickly becoming too far advanced to benefit much from significant rain, but spring and summer crops would benefit greatly and there is potential for rain to evolve during weekend and next week. Other production areas in the western Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) received timely rain during the past week and production potentials for winter, spring and summer crops remain good. Additional rain during the coming week will maintain that favorable outlook for many areas outside of Russia’s Southern Region and western Kazakhstan.
