India’s Monsoon Performing Relatively Well

Kansas City, July 9 (World Weather Inc.) – India’s monsoon continues to perform well enough to support most farming and crop needs. There are some areas of dryness in the far south, extreme northwest, in West Bengal and immediate neighboring areas. Excessive rain in parts of Bangladesh, the far Eastern States, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh resulted in flooding and possibly a little crop damage. Most locations have ample moisture to support generally good crop establishment and growth potential outside the driest areas. Rajasthan and western Gujarat will trend drier than normal during the coming week and the main production areas will need more rain later this month. Other locations in India will see a relatively normal monsoonal rain pattern through early next week. Flood potentials will remain high in the wettest locations of eastern and northern India.

Weekly Citrus Weather for July 9, 2024

Kansas City, July 9 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s main citrus areas received rain on a frequent basis during the past week similar to that of recent past weeks. The rain combined with irrigation continued to support aggressive growth. The region will again have several opportunities for rain during the coming week, though rain totals will trend a little lower than normal as a drier airmass advances over the state. Mexico’s citrus areas saw a good mix of monsoonal rain and sunshine during the past week. Additional rain is slated for the main citrus areas during the coming week and will support improving conditions for fruit production tree growth. Harvesting in Brazil’s citrus areas is ongoing despite some rain in southern Sao Paulo. Rainfall during the next few days may again slow the harvest in southern Sao Paulo.
