U.S. Hard Red Winter Wheat Rainfall Remains Disappointing

Kansas City, October 21 (World Weather Inc.) – An impressive upper level low pressure center over the southwestern United States is being ejected through the central Plains and will eventually move across the Midwest this week. Even though 1.00 to more than 6.00 inches of rain fell in eastern New Mexico and 1.00 to 3.30 inches occurred in southeastern Colorado, the bulk of hard red winter wheat country has failed to get much relief to drought and/or abnormally dry conditions. Significant rain chances are expected to remain poor for the coming ten days, despite some showers.

Brazil Rain Will Continue To Improve Soybean Planting

Kansas City, October 21 (World Weather Inc.) – Soybean and first-season corn planting remains behind normal for a large section of Brazil due to the late onset of seasonal rains. Center-west, center-south, and northeastern Brazil received much-needed rain during the past week that improved establishment and early-season growth. With more rain on the way this week, planting and establishment conditions will further improve or remain favorable across the main production areas. Winter wheat harvesting continues in southern Brazil where the lack of abundant rain this week should help improve field progress.
