Tropical Cyclone Dana To Impact Eastern India, Bangladesh

Kansas City, October 23 (World Weather Inc.) – Tropical Cyclone Dana slowly intensified over the Bay of Bengal in recent days. Dana will approach eastern India today before making landfall near the West Bengal/Odisha border Thursday. The disturbance will then meander around eastern India Friday and this weekend before dissipating early next week. Torrential rain will spread across West Bengal, northeastern Odisha, and neighboring locations as the disturbance reaches India. Severe flooding is expected in several locations and may damage unharvested rice and other crops. Harvesting and general fieldwork will likely come to a standstill as well. Overall production losses will be small as some of the crop is already out of the ground and flooding will be restricted to a few locations.
