California Snowpack Above Normal; Dry, Warm Weather Ahead

Kansas City, December 13 (World Weather Inc.) – Water reservoir levels across California are generally near or above historical levels. Waves of precipitation in recent weeks have also helped lift snowpack near or above historical levels for this time of year in the northern and southern Sierra Nevada while central sections of the Sierra Nevada have lower than usual snow. Two disturbances will continue to promote waves of precipitation for the northern half of the state through early next week. Development of a high-pressure ridge over western North America is otherwise expected later next week and will likely remain over the region into the second week of the outlook. The ridge will restrict precipitation and promote warmer than normal conditions.
