Russia, Ukraine Winter Crops Still In Need Of Moisture

Kansas City, October 14 (World Weather Inc.) – Russia, Ukraine, and western Kazakhstan saw a mix of rain and sunshine during the past week. The rain was welcome where it occurred and marginally increased the moisture profile. Establishment conditions for the winter grains and oilseeds may have improved, though much more moisture is needed for ideal long-term production potentials. The main production areas will see a mix of spotty precipitation and sunshine during the coming week. Soil moisture will remain a little too low to support good long-term crop conditions, though the precipitation will still be welcome for the short-term.
