China Wheat, Rapeseed Planting Likely Winding Down

Kansas City, November 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Abundant rainfall in the main winter wheat areas of the North China Plain in October significantly delayed planting. The region welcomed the moisture for favorablec long-term production potentials, but needed drier weather to get the crop in the ground in a timely manner. The region saw a turn to drier weather in November, which helped expedite planting and general fieldwork. Winter rapeseed planting is likely ongoing in the Yangtze River Basin as well. Long-term production potentials are relatively favorable despite a lack of precipitation in recent weeks. Northeast China will have a few opportunities for snow through the end of next week while most other production areas in China remain drier than usual.
