U.S. Delta Drought Eased By Recent Rain; SE Relief Coming

Kansas City, April 30 (World Weather Inc.) – Drought in the U.S. Delta and southeastern states became a bit extreme and notable earlier in April raising much concern about the growing season this year. Some timely rain of significance has evolved during the past week in much of the Delta and Tennessee River Basin and a small part of the southeastern states. Not all areas have been seriously eased from dryness, but improved crop and field conditions have resulted in many areas. This trend will continue into the weekend as one more weather disturbance impacts the region. This next weather event will bring greater relief to the lower Delta and a larger part of the Carolinas, southern Georgia and southeastern Alabama where there has not been much relief yet.

World Cocoa Weather for April 30, 2026

Kansas City, April 30 (World Weather, Inc.) – Most cacao production areas in the world have experienced good weather in the past 12 months. The favorable conditions; including frequent rain and seasonable temperatures, translated into much improved cocoa production sending futures prices into a tailspin after a record run up in prices that may have been partially market emotionally driven in 2024-25. The fallout in prices is reflective of greater supply and the current crops in Indonesia, Africa and South America are big enough to perpetuate the production glut. A developing El Nino event later this year should turn things around, although it will take several months for adverse weather to begin threatening production
