Brazil Coffee Flowering Explodes On Early September Rain

Kansas City, September 16 (World Weather Inc.) – Brazil’s most closely monitored coffee production region of Sul de Minas and northeastern Sao Paulo received significant rain in the first half of September inducing a full flush of early season flowering for the 2026-27 crop. Rain has been sufficient since September 1 to induce flowering and some successful pollination from northern Parana through Sul de Minas. World Weather, Inc. believes some flowering has also begun in Cerrado Mineiro, Zona da Mata and in Espirito Santo, although it may not be a full flush yet in some of those areas. Market commentary has been focused on uneven and possibly delayed rainfall in coffee areas this year, but that has certainly not been the case so far this month. Northern production areas are more at risk of erratic rain than the south, which warrants a close watch on weather through October.

Western India Receives Much-Needed Rain

Kansas City, September 15 (World Weather Inc.) – Gujarat and neighboring areas of Maharashtra and western Madhya Pradesh received timely rain in recent days. These areas had been drying down and were in growing need of rain to improve conditions for the grains, oilseeds, pulses, and other crops produced this time of year. Monsoonal rain will continue for portions of western India during the next several days and should maintain good crop conditions, at least for the short-term. In the meantime, Punjab and Haryana into northern and western Rajasthan dried down in recent days. These areas will receive limited rainfall in the coming week and dryness will further intensify. The need for significant rain will be high, but this is the time of year that monsoonal rain usually begin to withdraw. The remaining production areas in India will see a good mix of rain and sunshine during the coming week.

Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, September 15, 2026

Kansas City, September 15 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region again saw waves of rain during the past week. With more rain on the way during the coming week, the environment will remain favorable for aggressive growth. Mexico’s citrus areas also received timely monsoonal rain during the past week. Most locations will receive enough rain to maintain good development in the coming week outside a few pockets in the northeast. Brazil’s citrus areas are also starting to receive rain. Early-season flowering conditions are improving, most notably the southern half of Sao Paulo.
