Southeast Canada Corn, Soybean Conditions Relatively Good

Kansas City, June 8 (World Weather Inc.) – Outside a few pockets that are still planting, a large amount of Southeast Canada’s corn and soybeans are in the ground. Establishment and early-season development conditions were relatively favorable in recent weeks. Slightly cooler weather limited aggressive growth at times and there are a few fields that are starting to dry down a little too much. Temperatures will often trend above normal this week with alternating periods of erratic rain and sunshine. Warmer air and timely rain will either improve or maintain good development conditions across the main production areas.

Argentina Rain Beneficial For Wheat, Barley Planting, Establishment

Kansas City, June 8 (World Weather Inc.) – A disturbance brought rain to Argentina this past weekend. The rain was well-timed as many producers are planting winter wheat and barley. Establishment conditions either improved or remained favorable for the main production areas in central and southern Argentina. Harvesting of summer crops is ongoing, as well. Rainfall will be limited for the main production areas for at least the next seven days allowing the harvest of summer crops and planting of winter grains to advance with few disruptions. Establishment conditions will remain favorable for the wheat and barley, though the need for timely rain will increase later this month as more crops go into the ground.
