Indian Monsoon Will Slowly Expand North In Coming Weeks

Kansas City, June 23 (World Weather Inc.) – Monsoonal rain was erratically distributed across India during the past week. Bangladesh and the Eastern States were wettest while many areas in central, western, and northern India did not receive enough rain to significantly improve the moisture profile. The ground remains too dry for ideal establishment and growth for much of northwestern India and several neighboring locations. Precipitation will remain limited for northwestern and portions of central India during the coming week. Planting and general fieldwork will advance swiftly while the ground remains too dry for ideal establishment. Southern India will also start to dry down while other production areas see a good mix of rain and sunshine. The driest areas could see rain potentials increase during the first week of July, which may support better establishment and growth.

Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, June 23, 2026

Kansas City, June 23 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida again received significant rainfall during the past week that slowly improved the drought. Additional rain is still needed to completely fix the moisture deficits, though citrus conditions still benefitted from the rain. Showers and thunderstorms will evolve on a frequent basis during the coming week and will further bolster soil moisture. Mexico’s citrus areas saw waves of rain during the past week. The northeast corner of citrus country will trend drier than usual during the coming week while other areas again see waves of rain. Citrus conditions will remain favorable, even in the northeast. For Brazil, erratic rainfall during the next few days may briefly slow the harvest.

Summer Heat Building Up In Southern U.S. Plains

Kansas City, June 23 (World Weather Inc.) – Hot temperatures developed in the southern U.S. Plains during the long holiday weekend with extremes reaching 111 Fahrenheit from Edwards Plateau to the Big Bend area of Texas. The heat mellowed out in recent days, but the southern Plains are likely to heat up again over the next week and become a heat source for other areas in the central and eastern United States for a while. That will translate into excessive heat advisories and warnings for both people and livestock from the central and southern Plains into the Midwest and Delta.

Intense Heat In France Stressing Crops, Livestock

Kansas City, June 22 (World Weather Inc.) – France has been dealing with another drought this year with rainfall well below normal since the middle of March. Portions of the nation were suffering from drought during much of 2025 as well and some partial recovery occurred during the autumn and winter. However, a ridge of high pressure that evolved last week has intensified sufficiently to induce some of the hottest temperatures recorded on this date and possibly ever in a few areas of France. Extremes of 110 to 116 degrees Fahrenheit were reported at unofficial weather observing sites in the heart of the nation. Most temperatures across the nation this afternoon have varied from 95 to 110 degrees.
