Frost, Freezes May Have Impacted Argentina Soybeans, Corn

Kansas City, May 3 (World Weather Inc.) – Frost and freeze conditions occurred this morning in southern Argentina. Some of the late season crops were likely impacted with the greatest concern being for the late double cropped soybeans. The cold weather will abate this weekend and there may be some follow-up shots of cold late next week and into mid-month. An assessment of the damage from this morning’s cold weather will begin immediately, but it will be several days and perhaps longer before the impact of the cold will be fully understood.

U.S. Weather To Transition Late This Month

Kansas City, May 2 (World Weather Inc.) – U.S. weather has been wetter than expected in recent weeks and the trend will continue for another week to ten days. The wet bias is putting moisture into the soil that will be fed back into the atmosphere during the warmer days of late May and June. The moisture feedback will help keep the early summer ridge of high pressure weaker than once feared and that will help the month of May be a more favorable month of weather in the United States and Canada. The trend for warmer and drier biased conditions in June and July has not been changed.
