Hot, Dry Conditions In West Texas To Negate Recent Rainfall

Kansas City, May 17 (World Weather Inc.) – Some much needed rain fell this past week across portions of West Texas. The driest areas in the southwest needed rain most, though it was not likely enough especially in light of some very warm to hot temperatures that are likely in this coming week. The heat will amplify evaporation and limit the amount of relief crops will experience. Furthermore, minimal to no rainfall is expected through the next week to ten days which will exacerbate drying conditions in the region. More rain will be needed in the coming weeks to alleviate crop stress, particularly in areas southwest of Lubbock where most crops are unirrigated.
