U.S. Midwest Corn, Soybean Short-Term Conditions Good

Kansas City, June 7 (World Weather Inc.) – Waves of rain have helped keep soil moisture rated favorably for much of the U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt. Planting is near or slightly ahead of normal for this time of year despite the rainfall. The region will see a good mix of rain and sunshine through the end of next week that will maintain a good environment for establishment and early-season development. Planting will also advance around the periods of precipitation. A high-pressure ridge could then extend over portions of the Midwest during the second week of the outlook, most notably in the eastern Corn and Soybean Belt. The environment will remain generally good for short-term development conditions despite the potential for drier and warmer weather.
