Eastern, Northern India Rainfall May Promote Flash Flooding

Kansas City, August 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Several areas from eastern India into Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and northern India received some of the most significant rain in India during the past week. Flash flooding was possible in the wettest locations with minor damage to the grains, oilseeds, pulses, and other crops. Overall, losses were suspected of being minimal. Other production areas generally saw a good mix of rain and sunshine during the past week and crop conditions are relatively good. Much of India will have opportunities for monsoonal rain during the coming week. Eastern, central, and northern India will receive the greatest amount of rain, primarily later this week and weekend. Localized flooding remains a threat and may damage additional crops. Yield potentials will remain favorable.
