Argentina Weather Should Improve For Better Wheat Outlook

Kansas City, August 21 (World Weather Inc.) – Argentina has experienced a long cold and dry winter this year. Concern about the dryness has been running high and those producers and traders expecting La Nina later this year are of the opinion that another drought year is in the making. World Weather, Inc., however, does not believe that to be the case. An active weather pattern should evolve in September to improve soil moisture and the prospects for early spring winter crop development. Some of the moisture expected should also help improve the outlook for early corn and sunseed planting.

SE Europe To SW Russia Dryness Eating Away Crop Yields

Kansas City, August 21 (World Weather Inc.) – Dryness intensified from the lower Danube River Basin through Ukraine and parts of Belarus to Russia’s Volga River Basin in recent weeks. A strong high-pressure ridge often settled over these locations, limiting rain and promoting warmer than normal conditions. Warmer- and drier-than-normal conditions will persist for these locations for at least another week, if not ten days to two weeks. The ground will remain dry or critically dry and the environment will remain poor for nearly all unirrigated crops. Production is expected to trend lower than normal due to the gradual drying trend in recent weeks.
