Eastern, Central, Northern India Susceptible To Flooding

Kansas City, September 10 (World Weather Inc.) – Monsoon season continued across India during the past week with frequent rainfall and seasonal temperatures. Northeastern Andhra Pradesh into southern Chhattisgarh, southeastern Madhya Pradesh, and neighboring locations reported heavy rain at times with localized flooding suspected. Crop damage was likely minimal, though these areas are in need of drier weather. Production potentials otherwise remain favorable for India as a whole. Two monsoonal disturbances will promote periods of significant rainfall in portions of eastern, central, and northern India during the coming week. Flooding will remain a concern, most notably from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and neighboring locations into Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Minor crop damage will again be possible for these locations.

Australia Wheat Areas Will Remain Drier Biased This Week

Kansas City, September 9 (World Weather Inc.) – Queensland and New South Wales continued to dry down during the past week. Very little rain and unusually warm weather continued to impact some of the region while winter crops were approaching and entering reproduction. Production cuts are quite likely if this trend continues any longer. Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia have enough moisture to support relatively good crop conditions, though a marginal boost in rain would be welcome. Drier than normal weather is slated for much of the winter grain and oilseed areas this week. There is some potential for increased rainfall in Queensland and northern New South Wales during the September 17-23 period, although confidence in the amount of rain that will fall remain slow.
Central Europe Flood Potentials Will Be High This Week

Kansas City, September 9 (World Weather Inc.) – Flash flooding was noted in portions of France and northern Italy in recent days as waves of heavy rain were noted. No crop or structural damage has occurred, thus far, though more rain is coming and some of it will be quite heavy. A wet weather pattern is slated for central Europe this week as an upper-level trough of low pressure meanders around the region. Flood potentials will gradually increase, most notably in the wettest areas of Czechia, Slovakia, Australia, southern Poland, western sections of the Balkans region, and neighboring locations. Harvesting will be slowed or delayed due to the waves of rain. Minor production losses will be a concern with quality declines a more significant threat to the unharvested crops.
