U.S. Midwest Rain Will Impact Harvest Rates

Kansas City, September 20 (World Weather Inc.) – Corn and soybean harvesting is underway in portions of the U.S. Midwest. Spotty rain may have impacted early-season harvesting in portions of crop country during the past week, though rainfall was too light to keep producers out of the fields for an extended period of time. Disturbances will promote more widespread and significant rain through the end of next week for much of the Corn and Soybean Belt outside the Dakotas, Minnesota, and immediate neighboring locations. Harvesting and general fieldwork will likely be slowed or delayed, most notably in the wettest areas of Illinois, Indiana, and neighboring locations. The moisture will be beneficial for future wheat planting, emergence and establishment.
