Australia Dryness Impacted Winter Grain, Oilseed Yields

Kansas City, October 3 (World Weather Inc.) – Timely rain was noted in portions of Australia’s main winter wheat, barley, and canola areas during the past week. These areas have trended a little dry at times over the growing season and development conditions have been a little less than ideal. Recent dryness combined with frost in September in southeastern Australia led to a reduction in production potentials this season, although it is unclear how much impact that has had. Drier-than-normal weather will return during the coming week, leaving the soil too dry to support ideal growth in several locations.
