China Mid-Month Rain To Be Ideal For Wheat, Rapeseed

Kansas City, November 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Weather conditions in eastern China this autumn have been mostly very good. Sufficient moisture fell to support wheat and some rapeseed planting, although rapeseed is still going into the ground today. The harvest of summer crops likely advanced favorably as well. There are some dry areas in China’s winter crop region and rain is needed. Another five to six days of dry weather is expected before a short term pattern change takes place bringing rain to most of the nation’s wheat and rapeseed areas from Nov. 13-19.

U.S. Central Plains Dryness To Be Eased By Rain, Snow Event

Kansas City, November 6 (World Weather Inc.) – A three-day rain and snow event in the central U.S. Plains promises to bring substantial moisture to hard red winter wheat areas that were missed by the past week of substantial rain from west Texas to southeastern Kansas and Oklahoma. The northwest half of wheat country (including central and western Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska) was not included in the recent deluge of rain and soil conditions remain quite dry in several areas. Rain and snow developed in a part of the dry region today, but two more surges of notable moisture will impact the region by Saturday resulting in saturated topsoil and a new outlook for winter crops. Livestock stress and travel problems are likely through Saturday morning because of heavy wet snow in the high Plains.

Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Kansas City, November 5 (World Weather Inc.) – Tropical Storm Rafael is not likely to turn toward Florida citrus areas. A little short term bout of tropical moisture will move through the state’s fruit trees, but no excessive wind or flooding is expected. The environment in Florida should be mostly good as the region continues to clean up and recover from Hurricane Milton. In the meantime, Sao Paulo, Brazil reported some impressive rainfall this past week improving soil moisture and crop development conditions greatly. Another rainy and seasonably warm week of weather lies ahead. In Mexico, seasonal rains continue in decline which is normal. Outside of drought in the northwest the prospects for 2025 crops is not too bad in the northeast and very good in the south. Timely winter rain will be very important for Mexico, though.
