Central Argentina Rain Next Week Important

Kansas City, November 19 (World Weather Inc.) – A highly favorable mix of rain and sunshine has been impacting Argentina this month providing a nearly perfect environment for reproducing and filling winter crops in the south, harvest conditions in the north and summer planting progress nationwide. There is, however, a region from southern Santiago del Estero to central Cordoba and southeastward from there to Entre Rios that has missed rain recently and the ground is quickly firming up raising some concern for long term crop development, but allowing fieldwork to advance swiftly. Another five to six days of dry biased conditions are likely until rain possibly evolves. Next week’s rain event will be very important in restoring the highly favorable crop environment that has been prevailing this month.

Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Kansas City, November 19 (World Weather Inc.) – Negligible rainfall in Florida citrus areas during the past week induced a good environment for hurricane damage recovery and general farming activity. The upcoming season’s yields are expected to be some of the lowest on record in part due to damage from Hurricane Milton. A strong frontal boundary will bring rain to Florida Wednesday that may disrupt harvesting and general farming activity while also reducing the need for irrigation. Drier weather later in the forecast period will again support better conditions for the harvest. Brazil’s citrus areas saw a mix of spotty rain and sunshine during the past week with more of the same coming. Portions of Sao Paulo will see less than usual rain for a while; although development conditions will remain generally good. In Mexico, unusually late rainfall may slow harvesting in east-central and western Mexico through this weekend.
