China Weather Will Be Mild In Coming Weeks

Kansas City, December 6 (World Weather Inc.) – A relatively quiet weather pattern evolved in China earlier this week that will persist for at least the next week to ten days. Scattered showers will still occur at times near and south of the Yangtze River with some light snow also accumulating in portions of northern China. The rain will help maintain a good environment for the main winter rapeseed production areas. Winter wheat prospects for the North China Plain and neighboring locations will also remain favorable despite the lack of precipitation. There is no significant threat for damaging cold weather in the main wheat areas through at least the end of next week. Much of the North China Plain remains snow-free and will remain snow-free through at least mid-December.

U.S. Plains Precipitation Potentials To Increase Mid-December

Kansas City, December 6 (World Weather Inc.) – Winter crops established under relatively favorable conditions this autumn in the U.S. hard red winter wheat country. The high Plains received well above normal precipitation in November that not only supported good establishment, but also long-term conditions. Many areas in the northern Plains were not significantly relieved from drought and areas from Montana to South Dakota and Nebraska are still drought stricken and in need of timely precipitation over the winter. There is potential for a more active weather pattern during the second week of the outlook that could bring precipitation to portions of hard red wheat country, though the northwestern Plains may be missed.
