South Africa Will Continue To Receive Timely Rain

Kansas City, December 24 (World Weather Inc.) – An active weather pattern promoted frequent rainfall in South Africa’s eastern and southern summer crop production areas during the past week. Northwestern crop areas; however, only received light precipitation and dryness was only partially relieved. More rain is needed in North West, Free State and eastern portions of Northern Cape. Scattered shower activity will persist on a frequent basis for eastern and central South Africa during the coming week. Soil moisture will further increase and maintain a relatively good environment for grain, oilseed, and cotton establishment and early-season growth. Planting will likely advance around the periods of rain as well. Western South Africa will receive little to no rain through early next week, which will be beneficial for any late season winter wheat harvesting.
