Russian Winter Wheat Will Remain Safe From Winterkill

Kansas City, February 20 (World Weather Inc.) – Bitter cold air settled into the western and southern Russia’s winter crop region along with Ukraine and western Kazakhstan during the past week. No crop damage was suspected since the only threatening temperatures occurred in areas with significant snow cover. Periods of colder than normal weather will persist during the next several days and nighttime temperatures will again drop near the threshold for crop damage. However, most crop areas will again have opportunities for snow that will protect the winter grains and oilseeds.
