India To Trend Drier Next Week, Beyond Mid-Month

Kansas City, August 5 (World Weather Inc.) – One more wave of rain is expected to impact eastern India over the next several days before reaching northwestern parts of the nation briefly this weekend. After that, the subcontinent is expected to experience a new bout of more notable drier than usual weather. The return of more anomalously dry biased conditions will reverse the trend of July that brought improved soil moisture to many crop areas while inducing some areas of significant flooding. Moisture deficits in the nation are greatest in the far south and east-central and northeastern areas, but despite the moisture deficits soil moisture outside of the far south is mostly rated well for this time of year. That may change with the notable decline in rainfall slated for next week and for the following week. Conditions will remain relatively good for the near-term outside the driest areas in the south.
