Lower U.S. Midwest Flooding Rain To Delay Fieldwork

Kansas City, March 31 (World Weather Inc.) – An active weather pattern is in store for portions of the lower U.S. Midwest and northern Delta this week and weekend. A strong upper-level trough of low pressure will develop across western North America during mid- to late-week that will help send a series of disturbances across the Delta and Midwest. These disturbances combined with moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will promote waves of heavy rain that will likely promote significant flooding. Structural damage because of high water will be possible and early-season fieldwork will be delayed for an extended period in the wettest areas. Damage to the winter wheat in poor drainage areas is likely throughout the region.
