U.S. Weekend Rain Maintains Good Midwest Soil Moisture

Kansas City, July 21 (World Weather Inc.) – Sunday’s soil assessment for the United States reflects the abundant rain that occurred during the weekend. Most of the Midwest has unusually good soil moisture for this time of year. There are a few pockets of dryness in Michigan and other areas in the Great Lakes region and a few other random pockets, but in general for the 21st day in July the moisture profile still looks good enough to carry corn through its filling process. Timely rain will still be needed for soybeans and even though timely rain is advertised for the next couple of weeks there will be some areas that will dry out and they will have to be monitored for mid- to late August when soybeans are in their most critical moisture demand stages of development.
