Australia Winter Crop Moisture Profile Improves Greatly

Kansas City, August 20 (World Weather Inc.) – It took most of the winter, but Australia’s wheat, barley canola production areas have finally received enough moisture to support better crop establishment prior to aggressive spring crop development. There is still need for additional rain and the prospects are relatively good that it will come over the next several weeks.

Argentina Rain Fulfills Moisture Need Except Far West

Kansas City, August 20 (World Weather Inc.) – Much-needed rain fell as advertised late last week for Argentina’s primary agricultural region the past two days. Santa Fe, Entre Rios, and Buenos Aires received the most significant rain and long-term production potentials remain favorable. Cordoba and neighboring locations in western Argentina received timely rain as well, though not enough to completely fix the moisture deficits. The driest areas in western Argentina would still benefit from additional rain in the coming weeks. Eastern Argentina will have a few opportunities for rain through the middle of next week while areas farther west receive little to no rain. Winter wheat and barley prospects will remain favorable, though the need for rain will increase for western Argentina late this month and in September.
