Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, September 16, 2025

Kansas City, September 16 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region received rain on a frequent basis during the past week. With waves of rain continuing for the next several days, the environment will remain favorable for aggressive citrus growth. Mexico’s citrus areas received varying amounts of rain during the past week. Citrus conditions remain relatively good despite the potential for localized flooding in Veracruz and San Luis Potosi. The main citrus areas will again see a mix of monsoonal rain and sunshine during the coming week. Brazil’s citrus region could also receive rain early next week that could impact harvesting and general farming activity.

Mexico Will Receive Rain; Drought To Persist In North

Kansas City, September 15 (World Weather Inc.) – Several areas in Mexico were drier than usual during the past month despite the continuation of the North America monsoon. Drought is ongoing in extreme northern Mexico, though some improvements were noted in Sonora. Pockets in southern and western Mexico have also become abnormally dry or under a moderate drought. The environment remained favorable for aggressive grain, oilseed, and other crop growth despite several locations trending drier than usual. Monsoonal rain will persist for a large section of the country this week with exceptions for portions of north-central and central Mexico. Late-season development conditions will remain relatively good outside the driest pockets.

West-Central Africa Rain Slowly Improving Coffee, Cacao

Kansas City, September 15 (World Weather Inc.) – Seasonal rains have been slow to return to west-central Africa this year after shifting far to the north in late July and early August. Dryness that has occurred in recent weeks has led to concern over the success of flowering for the mid-crops of coffee and cacao which will be harvested in the second quarter of 2026. Precipitation was also needed for the main season crops which will be harvested late this year and into early 2026. Rain during the weekend and late last week in parts of Ghana and Benin was welcome and sufficient enough to induce greatly improved topsoil moisture, but Ivory Coast and western Ghana are still too dry.
