Brazil Will See Seasonal Rain Expand Across Crop Country

Kansas City, October 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Mato Grosso do Sul received much-needed rain during the past week that helped improve the moisture profile. However, center-south and the remaining portions of center-west Brazil missed out on the rain. The ground remains too dry to support ideal soybean and first-season corn establishment and dryness has had some impact on coffee and sugarcane as well. Seasonal rainfall will gradually expand across much of Brazil during the coming week. The main production areas will receive enough precipitation to improve the moisture profile and support better planting and establishment. Additional rain will still be needed later in November to completely fix the moisture deficits and that needs should be fulfilled.

Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Kansas City, October 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region will trend drier than usual during the coming week in part due to Hurricane Melissa. The disturbance will not make a direct impact on citrus country and most areas will still have enough moisture to support new growth. In Brazil, seasonal rains will expand across the main citrus region during the coming weeks. The environment will improve or remain favorable as citrus continues to bloom and develop. Mexico’s citrus areas will also see a mix of rain and sunshine during the coming week that will maintain relatively good growth.

Argentina Frost, Light Freezes Have Low Impact

Kansas City, October 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Frost and light freezes occurred in southern Argentina this morning. Most of the officially reported low temperatures were right at the point of freezing. Pre-dawn temperatures suggested the coldest air was of very short duration suggesting the impact on reproducing and filling wheat and barley should have been low. Another cool morning is expected Wednesday and some computer forecast models have suggested another shot of cold “may” occur early next week – although confidence on that event is very low today.

The storm will move inland and quickly dissipate today without much damage.

Hurricane Melissa Begins To Pound Jamaica; Cuba Next

The storm was moving north northeasterly at only 5 mph will reach the southern coast of Jamaica around mid- to late morning today producing wind speeds at a devastating sustained rate of 165 mph with gusts approaching 190 mph. India Crops May Be Impacted By Late-Season Rain

Kansas City, October 27 (World Weather Inc.) –Tropical Cyclone Montha over the Bay of Bengal and another disturbance over the Arabian Sea, will bring rain to a large swath of India this week. The influx of rain will be poorly timed for the ongoing harvest of India’s kharif crops. Quality declines or crop damage will be possible, most notably to oilseeds, rice, and cotton produced in portions of eastern, central, and western India. Harvesting and general fieldwork will likely be sluggish or come to a standstill in the wettest locations.
