Australia Harvest Will Advance Swiftly In Coming Days

Kansas City, November 12 (World Weather Inc.) – The harvest of winter wheat, barley, and canola continues for Australia. Some rain during the past week slowed the harvest at times, most notably for Western Australia and Victoria. Production potentials otherwise remain favorable with greater than usual yields expected overall. Precipitation will be limited through the middle of next week in the main areas that are still harvesting. The lack of rain and warm daytime temperatures will support relatively good harvest conditions. In the meantime, the need for rain will increase in Queensland and New South Wales in order to support better summer grain, oilseed, and cotton establishment and growth.

Philippines, Vietnam Excessively Wet Ahead Of Additional Rain

Kansas City, November 12 (World Weather Inc.) – Portions of Southeast Asia have been impacted by excessive rain events in recent weeks resulting in numerous flood events causing extensive property and agricultural damage. The Philippines were impacted by nine different tropical weather systems since June and three typhoons since early October. The ground is excessively wet and additional waves of rain are likely through the middle of next week. In the meantime, portions of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand have also been impacted by excessive rain events and some tropical cyclones resulting in damage as well. A new round of frequent excessive rain is slated to impact Vietnam this weekend through all of next week resulting in the potential for more than 20.00 inches of additional rain and more flooding.
