Parts Of Canadian Prairies Received Abundant Rain

Kansas City, June 2 (World Weather Inc.) – An upper-level disturbance promoted waves of rain for portions of Alberta and western Saskatchewan in recent days. The precipitation significantly bolstered soil moisture and increased river levels. Localized flooding was a concern for the wettest locations as well. While the rain was welcome, especially in areas that were previously struggling with drought, planting and general fieldwork was likely delayed. Additional rain and periods of cooler weather will limit drying during the coming week and will further slow or delay planting. Planting was already behind normal before the heavy rain in recent days. Producers may struggle getting the rest of the crop in the ground in a timely manner. Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan will otherwise see periods of rain in the coming week that may also slow or delay planting and general fieldwork.

Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, June 2, 2026

Kansas City, June 2 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region remains in a drought despite waves of rain during the past week. The need for significant rain remains high to fix the dryness and promote better long-term production potentials. The region will see periods of rain during the next few days before drier weather evolves later this week and weekend. Resulting rainfall will be too light to significantly improve the moisture profile. In Mexico, timely rain was noted across the main citrus areas during the past week. More significant rain will occur through early next week, which will help bolster soil moisture across the region. Citrus development conditions will remain favorable. Brazil’s citrus belt will be dry or receive limited rain. Harvesting should advance swiftly.

India’s Monsoon To Perform Poorly In Some Regions

Kansas City, June 2 (World Weather Inc.) – India’s monsoon will be an erratic rainfall producer in 2026. El Nino will hinder some of the convection, although there is some potential for greater than usual rainfall from Rajasthan into central and northern Pakistan. Far southern and extreme eastern India may be a little wetter than usual while the driest bias may be in central crop areas.
