Argentina Harvest Will Advance Around Brief Periods Of Rain

Kansas City, May 8 (World Weather Inc.) – Harvest progress has been a little slower for Argentina this year compared to last year. Waves of rain in recent weeks often slowed fieldwork, most notably in the eastern and northern production areas. Producers have still been able to make some progress between rain events, though drier weather would be welcome in the wettest fields. Alternating periods of rain and sunshine are slated for the main production areas during the coming week with Entre Rios, Corrientes, and eastern Buenos Aires receiving the most significant rain. Fieldwork may again advance slowly in the wettest locations. However, significant progress will be made as a whole across Argentina. Winter wheat planting will also start later this month once more of the summer crops come out of the ground.

Beneficial U.S. Pacific N.W. Rain Misses Central Washington

Kansas City, May 8 (World Weather Inc.) – A recent rain event in the U.S. Pacific Northwest brought up to 2.50 inches of moisture to portions of northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington while missing central Washington and north-central Oregon where dryness remains. In the next 10-days, dry conditions are expected to persist in central Washington. On top of this, unseasonably hot temperatures in the 80s and lower 90s are expected to develop this weekend, which will amplify evaporation and intensify drying. More rainfall will be needed in coming weeks to alleviate dryness in central Washington.
