Eastern Australia Moisture Profile Increases Ideally

Kansas City, December 2 (World Weather Inc.) – Waves of rain were noted across eastern Australia during the past week. The rain significantly bolstered soil moisture needed for the summer grains, oilseeds, and cotton. Several locations had been struggling with moisture shortages before the recent rain replenished the moisture profile. With more rain on the way this week, soil moisture will continue to increase across eastern Australia. Production potentials for dryland summer crops will improve greatly because of the rain. In the meantime, recent rain was not as welcome to winter grain and oilseed harvest areas in the southeast where field working delays resulted and a few of the wettest crops may have experienced a decline in crop quality.

Southern Brazil Will Trend Wetter Than Usual This Week

Kansas City, December 2 (World Weather Inc.) – Planting continues to progress a little ahead of last year’s pace across Brazil. Timely rain during the past week kept soil moisture rated favorably for aggressive establishment and early-season growth. Planted acreage is expected to be greater than usual for the soybeans and production may be large for the upcoming season. Frequent rain is slated for much of Brazil this week, which will keep soil moisture at adequate to excessive levels. Many areas in southern Brazil will trend wetter than usual with localized flooding possible. Crop and structural damage should be minimal, though planting and general fieldwork may advance slowly at times. The environment will otherwise remain generally favorable for the soybeans, first-season corn, and other crops.
