Brazil Corn Harvest Slowed By Rain, Additional Delay to Come

Kansas City, August 4 (World Weather Inc.) – Brazil’s Safrinha corn harvest has been slowed by recent rain and has fallen over 5% below it’s 5-year average pace with several states (Goias, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Parana) 10-14% behind the usual pace. Regular rain into the middle of next week from Mato Grosso do Sul to Parana will extend harvest delays while harvesting will increase from Sao Paulo into Minas Gerais and Goias where little rain is expected. An improving trend for fieldwork should follow and a close watch will be made on Aug. 13-18 when Mato Grosso do Sul into Parana see drier weather. Meanwhile, cotton and winter wheat harvesting are also running behind the usual pace and with these crops mostly being harvested in central and northern Brazil the harvest pace should accelerate during the next two weeks.

Weekly Citrus Weather For Tuesday, August 4, 2026

Kansas City, August 4 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region saw several waves of rain during the past week with more on the way in the coming week. Citrus development conditions remain favorable and a recent USDA report suggests production may be a littler higher than estimates from earlier this year. In Mexico, the northeast corner of citrus country was mostly dry while other areas saw a good mix of rain and sunshine. Most locations will have an opportunity for at least light amounts of rain during the coming week and citrus prospects will remain favorable. Harvesting in Brazil should advance swiftly around periods of spotty rain.
