Far SW China, North China Plain Dryness Prevailing

Kansas City, April 9 (World Weather Inc.) – China was drier and often warmer than usual during the past week with only a few light showers noted in portions of crop country. Resulting precipitation was generally too light to impact long-term soil conditions resulting in additional drying. Moisture deficits prevail in portions of far southwestern crop areas as well as in the North China Plain and central Yellow River Basin. The need for more significant rain remains high; though, continued dryness is expected. Areas near and south of the Yangtze River will see a good mix of rain and sunshine through the middle of next week while dry biases prevail in the southwest and North China Plain.

Argentina and China Crop Weather Updates For April 9, 2025

Kansas City, April 9 (World Weather Inc.) – Harvesting for several crops continues to advance in Argentina despite some rain during the past week. The environment was mostly favorable for late-season soybean and other crop development, even in areas that were dry or received minimal rain. With the harvest prevailing and expanding in the coming weeks, the need for drier and warmer weather is increasing, especially in areas that are currently dealing with excess moisture. Precipitation will vary through the middle of next week across the main production areas. Southern and northeastern Argentina will see periods of rain that may slow or delay the harvest. Quality impacts should otherwise be minimal. Drier weather is slated for the remaining production areas and the environment will improve or remain favorable for maturing and harvesting.
