Northern Argentina Harvest May Be Disrupted By Rain

Kansas City, May 5 (World Weather Inc.) – Harvesting is ongoing in the main production areas of Argentina. Portions of Buenos Aires, Entre Rios, Chaco, and neighboring areas may have received enough rain to slow the harvest at times during the past week. The remaining production areas saw relatively good harvest conditions. Argentina will have more opportunities for rain this week with the greatest amount of precipitation slated for the northern production areas. The harvest will be delayed in the wettest areas of Chaco, Formosa, Corrientes, northern Santa Fe, and neighboring locations, though no major production impacts are expected outside of some cotton quality declines. Rainfall elsewhere will be too light to severely impact the harvest.

2025 East Atlantic Tropical Cyclones May Reach Gulf Of Mexico

Kansas City, May 5 (World Weather Inc.) – Cooler ocean surface temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean this year relative to those of the past two years may help reduce the number of tropical cyclones that develop, but the impact may be greatest on the steering of those storms that form off the Africa coast. Unlike the past two years when storms from the eastern Atlantic Ocean were often steered away from the Gulf of Mexico, this year’s storm paths may favor a greater number of systems reaching the Gulf of Mexico and/or the southeastern United States.
