Central US. Midwest Rain Deficit Having Low Impact On Crops

Kansas City, July 9 (World Weather Inc.) – It is easy to become complacent about weather anomalies when timely rain occurs routinely over multiple weeks. That has certainly been the case for the heart of the Midwest where rainfall remains lighter than usual, but crop conditions are rated quite favorably with a huge production potential. This, once again, reiterates the idea that rainfall anomalies are not nearly as important to yields and production if the rain that does fall is timely and supported by seasonable temperatures. Some areas from northeastern Missouri and southeastern Iowa to western Michigan and northwestern Illinois are still reporting below normal rainfall, but as long as timely rain continues and temperatures are seasonal the impact on production may be minimal.
