Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, July 29, 2025

Kansas City, July 29 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus areas received seasonal rainfall on a frequent basis during the past week. With waves of rain and thunderstorms continuing on a frequent basis during the coming week, citrus prospects will remain favorable. In Mexico, the northeastern production areas dried down while east-central and western Mexico received timely monsoonal rain. Northeastern Mexico will again receive little to no rain during the coming week and the need for rain will increase. Other production areas in Mexico will again receive monsoonal rain on a frequent basis. Brazil’s citrus areas will trend dry or mostly dry in the coming days. Farming activity will continue with few disruptions.

Tropical Depression Co-May Will Impact East-Central China

Kansas City, July 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Tropical Depression Co-May evolved west of Luzon Island last week and was partially responsible for the 14-39.60 inches of rain that fell in western Luzon over the week ending Friday. The storm reached weak typhoon intensity prior to moving across northwestern Luzon Friday and then moved past Taiwan to the central Ryukyu Islands as a diminishing tropical cyclone during the weekend. The storm has regained some integrity and will strengthen as it moves northwest toward east-central China this week. Co-May will promote waves of rain and flooding for Zhejiang, Jiangsu, eastern Shandong, and neighboring locations in China over the next few days. A small amount of crop damage is possible. Overall, production losses should be minimal. Tropical Depression Co-May will gradually weaken while meandering around eastern China later this week, though remnants of the disturbance may shift into the Yellow Sea over the weekend.

Thailand Drying Unlikely To Have Big Impact

Kansas City, July 28 (World Weather Inc.) – Thailand weather this year has been much better than that of 2024 even though there is a small area in central parts of the nation that has become a little dry. Weather in the next ten days will not only keep the same region drier than usual, but there will be some expansion in the dryness to include a much larger part of rice, sugarcane and corn areas. The dryness may last ten days to two weeks at which time it will be very important that seasonal rains resume to ensure there is no negative impact on production for rain fed crops. Indonesia and Malaysia rainfall should improve this week while Cambodia and Vietnam will continue drier than usual.
