Canadian Prairies Harvest Will Advance Around Spotty Rain

Kansas City, September 5 (World Weather Inc.) – A disturbance brought enough rain in portions of Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan in recent days to slow harvesting and general fieldwork. However, a large section of the Canadian Prairies experienced relatively favorable conditions for aggressive maturation and harvesting during the past week. Progress remains a little behind normal compared to recent years in part due to periods of significant rain in August. A large section of the Prairies will trend drier than usual through the end of next week with periods of warmer than normal weather. The lack of abundant rain for most will be beneficial for aggressive maturation and harvesting. Yields remain highly variable across the Prairies due to an uneven distribution of rain over the growing season.
